Sew Along Schedule

Week 1 – Fabric Pull + Cutting (2–8 January)

  • Choose your fabrics – scrappy, rainbow, coordinated, or charm packs

  • Cut your 5" squares and background pieces

  • Share your fabric pull in the Facebook group (if you’d like to!)

Week 2 – Sewing Your Blocks (9–15 January)

  • Sew your blocks – they come together quickly

  • Press as you go

  • Start playing with your layout on a design wall or the floor

Week 3 – Assembly + Finishing (16–22 January)

  • Sew your rows together

  • Join your quilt top

  • Add borders (optional)

  • Quilt and bind – or finish later at your own pace

You’ll need the Zip It Quilt Pattern, available as:

  • PDF Pattern

  • Printed Pattern

Fabric & Supplies (kept simple):

  • 5" squares – charm packs or cut from your stash

  • Backing and binding (as per the pattern)

  • Thread and basic quilting supplies

Do I have to keep up each week?
No. This is very relaxed – sew when you can.

Where do I share my progress?
In the Emma Jean Jansen Sew Along Facebook Group, or on Instagram using #ZipItSewAlong and #EmmaJeanJansen.

Is this beginner friendly?
Yes – straight seams and simple cutting.

Do I need the pattern?
Yes – all instructions come from the Zip It Quilt Pattern.
